The second video picks up the show nearer the end.

I suggested the old modules were totally useless and that they might as well be made into earrings.
Well this is Dave’s idea of a Valentines Day gift for his wife.
Dave you are a photogeek legend.

Announced today, the most important shift in camera hardware since the release of the Hasselblad some 40 years ago.

RED Digital Cinema Camera’s have announced a new system that covers most camera types in use today from the prosumer low end HD video to the 6X17 wide format stills camera. All camera manufacturers will be hit with the magnitude of this new concept. Everything interchangable, all possible ergonomic configurations covered from a hand held stills system, shoulder mounted video, extreme high end feature film kit, and yes even 3D. This new camera system is the RED DSMC (Digital Stills and Motion Camera)

For most stills shooters a 24 MP stills camera that can take a Nikon or Canon lens is enough to get some interest. For video prosumer a fixed lens 2/3″ sensor shooting a 3K image is astounding. For those at the high end the options are equally staggering, a true 6 x 4.5 digital still camera at 65 MP or a file for feature film production at 9K and 50 fps.

This will sink in over the next few months as the options become clearer for those willing to add it all up. The big advantage they claim is RED have made obsolecence obsolete, and I am onboard as of now.

Get on to RED USER and see the rest of this story.

Police will not prosecute artist Bill Henson over his photographs of naked teenagers, declared “mild and justified” by Australia’s Classification Board.
Central Metropolitan Region Commander Assistant Commissioner Catherine Burn said police were obliged to investigate the works following complaints from the public.

“Police did receive complaints and this has been a matter of significant public concern and debate. This is a complex area of law,” she said in a statement.

“Matters involving the law and art are notoriously difficult and that is why police sought this advice.

“We looked at the possibility of breaches of the Crimes Act. The advice given to us is that a successful prosecution was unlikely.”
The act relates to sexual poses not nudity alone.
This decision closes the case but the debate proved an interesting glimpse into the opinion of the Australian general public.

According to Iphone Simm Free the iPhone 1.1.1 update does not “brick” an iPhone but makes it no longer capable of being used on non-AT&T networks. So for those in Australia trying to use Telstra’s network to run an Apple iPhone you are out of luck until a fix is produced by IPhone Simm Free.
According to MacWorld however the re installation of an AT&T SIMM may not be as simple as it sounds and perhaps some unlocked phones may indeed be “bricked”.
If the latter is true I don’t think this is good news for Apple, hundreds of angry, albeit warned customers cannot be a good thing.

Just a week after announcing the Release Candidate of Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac the final release version of 3.0 is live and ready for sale!
Announced today the version 3 is on sale for $99 Au or upgrade for $60 Au.
In this version Parallels announced:

Security Manager:
A built in management tool that helps users customize the level of interaction between Windows and OS X, including how and when files can be shared between OSes, if “drag and drop” is enabled or disabled, and when hard disks and devices are mounted and accessible.

Parallels Explorer:
View and modify the contents of your Windows virtual hard drive even when your VM is OFF! Drag files to and from the virtual hard drive, move or re-name existing files and create new folders on the fly. Great if you need to diagnose a problem, or get something into or out of your VM on short notice.

Vista Boot Camp Support:
Yep, its here! Use your Windows Vista Boot Camp or Windows XP Boot Camp partition in a Parallels virtual machine. Switch between running Windows in Parallels Desktop and Boot Camp as often as you want!

We will download soon and get the results of our testing online here.
What I want to test is the ability to convert BootCamp installations to Parallels controlled.
