Hi guys, enjoyed your show (as always), good to hear Cameron’s voice again.
Just thought I’d mention that (as I’m sure you already know) one reason why Canon L lenses are white is that they used to contain fluorite, which apparently is susceptible to heat expansion, so the barrels were white to minimise heat absorption. Even though they don’t contain much, if any, fluorite now, the white barrels are kept more as a marketing tool than anything else.
Also, have you seen your typo on this page about the SIFTABLES? Or are the STIFABLES some kind of new love-making aid?!
Have a good Easter guys, and keep up the excellent show.
Kind regards,
Maglio Viracca (Derby, UK)
Always a hoot to listen. Some bits of related info for this and last weeks shows. You have been covering driven enclosurs and such; check out http://www.icydock.com/product/mb664us-1sb.html for an external drive that “ejects” the raw drive when you need to swap it out. Great for our current era of cheap drives; fill ‘em up and store ‘em rather than stacks of optical media… There is an Oz distributor you can find through the web site; they were very helpful…
Lots of babble on Aperture; don’t forget there is a Mac/Windows product called Lightroom out there that does pretty much the same thing and has lots more users; you might mention it…
As for photo books; lots of friends, amateur and pro are using Momento and MomementoPro. Not all that cheap but very good quality. Perhaps worth a mention…
Icy Dock distributor in oz is Varia Budharja in Sydney on variab@alfa.com.au. Seemed good prices and prompt delivery… Excellent product for those of of you filling up external HD drives quickly (with video etc)
